Building businesses is extremely hard.
I want to help founders to build great companies with capital and strategic advice.
DM me through Linkedin.
I'm focus on real-world, physical problems at scale — especially where AI, autonomy, and embedded new intelligence can unlock massive value. I look for founders reimagining how the physical world can work much better.
I want to hear from Portuguese founders and researchers
but also from anywhere in Europe and the US.
These are some of the areas I’m currently exploring — but not limited to:
Defense and dual-use technologies
Backing innovations that support Europe’s defense efforts, public safety, and strategic autonomy — with clear civilian and commercial applications dual use. Defense technology used in land, air and sea situations. Matters mission capability, not lab perfection. I invest in teams who understand what it takes to get hardware into the field: ruggedization, modular design, long endurance, and reliable autonomy in dynamic environments. I value founders with deep technical integration: onboard learning, swarm coordination, adaptive mission planning, and edge reasoning. We also care about dual-use application from day one — companies that solve defense problems while creating leverage in civil infrastructure, disaster response, inspection, or border security.
Training of autonomous systems
Building smarter, more adaptive behavior models so robots can operate across complex environments — logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, and beyond. Still early days, with massive upside. This requires deep investment in real world models, such as motor control models, physics-informed learning, multi-agent coordination, and fine-grained manipulation under uncertainty. Dexterity becomes a force multiplier: fewer interventions, faster task completion.
Digital twins for critical sectors
I'm investing in platforms that build virtual replicas of high-stakes physical systems — from energy grids and hospital operations to logistics hubs and industrial plants. These digital twins enable teams to simulate, predict, and optimize before anything is deployed in the real world. It’s not just about visualization — it’s about compressing time, testing edge cases, and stress-testing decisions before they have real-world consequences.
Automation for industrial environments
I back teams unlocking repeatable, high-ROI automation across factories, warehouses, utilities, and city infrastructure. It’s identifying the workflows where autonomy creates disproportionate value: predictive maintenance, self-operating machines, dynamic scheduling, and last-mile mobility for goods and tools. I'm looking for systems that retrofit intelligence into industrial equipment — not rip and replace — using data, sensors, and machine learning to drive smarter operation
AI-powered residential and asset security
Legacy security systems are static, blind, and reactive. We’re backing a new generation of AI-native systems that understand context, adapt in real time, and secure both homes and high-value physical assets — from retail to critical infrastructure. The opportunity lies in replacing dumb cameras and passive sensors with autonomous, intelligent protection layers — systems that detect intent, classify threats, and trigger smart responses across multiple zones and use cases. Security is no longer about walls and wires — it’s about adaptive intelligence at the edge.
Energy & grid autonomy
The grid is becoming a distributed, intelligent system — and it’s as foundational as the internet. I'm backing technologies that make energy infrastructure smart, resilient, and autonomous: from real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance to demand response, storage optimization, and decentralized control. The new grid is complex, multi-directional, and data-driven — with EVs, batteries, solar, and IoT devices all acting as both consumers and producers. I'm looking for platforms that bring intelligence to this layer: software-defined energy flows, autonomous grid operations, and AI-coordinated infrastructure. This is one of the biggest transitions of the next decade
Smart infrastructure for cities
Public infrastructure is overdue for transformation. We’re backing companies that build connected, autonomous systems to help cities operate more efficiently — across transit, maintenance, logistics, and public safety. This isn’t about smart lampposts or dashboards. It’s about real systems that replace outdated workflows: autonomous street cleaning, intelligent irrigation, adaptive parking, and responsive surveillance. Cities have limited resources but increasing complexity — and the teams who bring automation to these high-friction zones will create defensible platforms that scale city by city.
IT services for enterprise transformation
Service companies that partner deeply with platforms like Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, OutSystems, NVIDIA, Siemens, ABB, AWS, Google, or Microsoft — and deliver meaningful business outcomes. There’s huge value in knowing the tech and the customer supported by robust IP and AI based.
I would love to meet people with bold ideas, early-stage companies, and unique use cases — I see a real opportunity to unbundle the European born industrial vendors and rebuild a techno industrial with a modern stack for industrial production.
